Vidic Rumored To Be Close To Old Trafford ExitRumors regarding Vidic’s exit from Manchester United were fuelled when the defender was pulled out at last minute citing an injury during the weekends match against Leeds United at Old Trafford. Manchester United went on to lose the game 1-0 and now are out of the FA cup.
Ferguson had no words when asked about situation of Vidic at the end of the match. All he could say was “I couldn’t tell you what the situation is with Nemanja. I couldn’t tell you at all”
The 28 year old Serbian defender wants to move out of England because his wife is unhappy with the climate. AC Milan and Real Madrid are both chasing the defender but according to latest reports Barcelona have also joined the hunt with their ace defender Carles Puyol skeptical over contract extension.
Reports say that Vidic will be out of Old Trafford by the end of the season with Real Madrid already bidding £30 million for the Serbian stopper. Manchester United meanwhile is resigned to losing the former Spartak Moscow defender; they are looking for options with Jack Rodwell from Everton being the favorite to replace him.
Jose Mourinho Says He Wants To Return To EPL
Former Chelsea manager and current Inter boss Jose Mourinho has said that he will return to England to manage a premier league side but that won’t be before next year. Mourinho is rumored to be out of favor at San Siro due to poor
performances in the Champions League and may be on his way out soon.
Massimo Moratti, the owner of Inter Milan expressed displeasure publicly when Milan were defeated by Barcelona in Champions League at Camp Nou. Mourinho has since replied by saying that he wants to go to coach in Spain.
Mourinho visited Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea defeat Fulham and was mobbed by reporters and fans where he reiterated his desire to work in England. Mourinho is rumored get the coaching position at Manchester United, something that is endorsed by Sir Alex Ferguson who said that he would like the Portuguese to take over at Old Trafford.
Chelsea enjoyed one of the best days when Mourinho was in charge, won every cup except the Champions League and left Chelsea with a mutual agreement. The Russian oligarch was stunned last year when the Chelsea players requested him to bring back Mourinho back to London to get back to their winning ways.
What Is Wrong With You, Liverpool?
Liverpool has just had one of the most disastrous Champions league campaigns ever; they didn’t even make it to the knock out stages of the championship and got out of the group stages even before the final round of fixtures was played.
Nobody knows what went wrong with Liverpool, they have had great luck in the competition. A couple of years ago they struggled to finish in the top four in the domestic competition and won the European club competition.
Last year the manager Rafael Benitez spend about 18.5 million pounds on Glen Johnson, 15.3 million pounds on Aquilani (who never got to play much due to injury problems from his former club) and this was spent to help Liverpool’s chances of winning the cup. But instead things have got worse and compared to this year, they did better last time. Maybe selling Xabi Alonso was too overwhelming for them. This shows what kind of player he was.
Nobody knows what went wrong, when a team has players like Gerrard and Torres how can you not come in top 2 with a group of teams like Fiorentina, Lyon and Debrecen? This will be a huge loss to Liverpool in terms of money and the club’s image. To make matters worse there are rumors lurking around that say Javier Mascherano is leaving for Barcelona for earning more money and that Torres will be sold to relieve the club of financial burdens.
Liverpool now focuses on Europa League. If they win the cup it will be nothing great because Liverpool are the most talented team in that league but if they lose it will build even more pressure on them.
Mourinho Asked To Go For Guti
Mourinho has been asked by Inter Milan players Samuel Eto’o and Wesley Sneijder to bring José María Gutiérrez ‘Guti’ Hernández to Inter Milan to solve their mid field woes. The two players believe the attacking midfielder will provide great opportunities to the Inter strikers who are shy of scoring in Champions League.
Guti currently is out of favor at Real Madrid following a war of words with Coach Manuel Pelligrini, in which the trainer won the duel and now Guti has been left to warming the benches at Real.
Inter coach Jose Mourinho is currently facing the heat from owner Massimo Moratti, following their 2-0 deafeat at Barcelona at the Champions league. The “Special one” has done nothing spectacular since replacing Roberto Mancini in 2008. True, the have won a couple of Scudettos, but this was already achieved by Mancini. Moratti wants Champions League success and has gone public with his disappointment with Mourinho to which the latter replied by saying ‘I would like to coach in Spain’
Guti is expected to leave Los Merengues following the outburst against Pelligrini during the Copa Del Rey match against Alcoron. But both Real Madrid and the player have insisted that there will be no transfer. Pelligrini has other ideas; he is heard saying that Guti is not playing because he is ‘injured’.

Benzema to replace Ronnie?
The enigmatic French striker is said to be the replacement of C.Ronaldo as his record transfer move is nearing completion, if reports are to be believed. Man U are poised to invest some of the €95m from the sale of C.Ronaldo on the Lyon striker.
In the past few years, Benzema has been linked with all European superpowers. Though he might have expressed his desire to stay at Lyon, an offer from the Red Devils is too hot to ignore, as they launch a €35m for the 21 year old.
President of OL, Jean-Michel Aulas, had appeared to have allayed any transfer speculation when he stated to Le Progres yesterday,
“We spoke a lot and it’s true that there are many clubs after [Benzema], but only after the [2010] World Cup. We interrogated his agent and we are not under the impression that he will leave in the short term.”
This somewhat contradicted a statement made to Le Dauphine Libere last week, when Aulas said,
“Kaka will not stay at Milan and will go to Real . Ribery and Cristiano Ronaldo will perhaps leave. We are entering a spiral of craziness and I would not say that Karim is untransferrable.”
Benzema, too is willing to leave the club and has said
“If president Aulas received an offer and pushed me to go, I would be obliged.”
This comment was made after France’s recent 1-0 victory over Turkey. But all of this depends on Tevez’s future at Old Trafford. Inter, Juventus and Milan from Serie A, Real Madrid and Barcelona have also expressed interest in the striker in the past.
Maicon to Madrid?
Maicon and his agent have both told the press this week that they are unhappy about the Brazilian being under-appreciated by Inter. Real Madrid is known admirers of the star, who is arguably the best right-back in the world, and there has been much talk of a €40 million bid for the player….
But with Sergio Ramos as a right-back will Real want another player?
Pirlo coming to the Bridge?
Andre Pirlo is one of the most under-rated players in the world. As per reports it seems he is wanted by his old manager Carlos Ancelotti and there are murmurs that Leonardo, the new Milan manager is not satisfied with his performance. Moreover, the player himself hinted on a move this summer.
Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani has declared that Pirlo will stay at Milan 99.9 per cent, but he also said that about Kaka and Andriy Shevchenko.

So will the talismanic striker move to Barca?
On the line of fire – Trezeguet :
Trezeguet, the French striker, has become a wanted man by many European teams, if his Agent, Antonio Caliendo, is to be believed. The player, who had fallen out of favor with Juventus ex-manager Claudio Ranieri, had hinted that he would leave the club if he had a good offers coming his way despite the fact that he has two years contract left with Juventus. “Real Madrid, Inter, Milan, Roma, Sevilla, Villarreal and Manchester City are all after him,” Caliendo told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

Fedex Conquers Clay
On a day kissed by rain, Federer accomplished the unthinkable, he won the FRENCH OPEN. The mixed tears of joy and relief ran down Federer’s face as he won the coveted French open title, the only trophy missing in his gallery of impressive titles. The Swiss beat Soderling ,7-6 and 6-4 in less than two hours, on a day which could have been spoiled by rain. But all the elements were in Federer’s favor as Soderling hit the net on reply to Federer’s serve.
The match will be a true spectacle to many a Federer fan as he displayed his once exquisite form, hitting aces, dropshots, etc to thrash Soderling. The first set was won easily by Federer in less than 25 minutes as he took four break points and won the set 6-1. The only moment during the match when Fedex was unnerved was during the second set when a spectator ran onto the court with a Barcelona flag and tried to place a hat on Federer’s head. Truely a huge disappointment to the French authorities.
Federer lost three points in a row after this incident as Soderling leveled it 2-2. But Federer quickly recovered his composure to take the set 7-6 in the tie breaker by 6-1. This set lasted for 49 minutes as Federer produced four aces by service. In the third set, Federer won the break in the first game of the set, leading 1-0, then after that each player won their respective service games, and on the score of 5-4, Federer served for the match and won the third set and the match.
By winning the French open, Federer became only the sixth man in tennis history to win all the four slam titles, with Andre Agassi being the last man to do it in 1999, presenting him with the trophy. What an irony it was, to watch Agassi present Federer the trophy, to equal Agassi rival, Pete Sampras’s record of 14 grand slam titles.
“This was my greatest victory” said Federer although it was Soderling’s win over Nadal, the four time French Open champion, who was attempting to become the first man to win five in succession. Soderling, playing his first grand slam final, and watched by fellow Swede Bjorn Borg who has won this title six times said “You gave me a lesson how to play” and later said “To me you are the greatest player in history”.
Federer has finally achieved the French Open title can now and go on with the rest of his career without worrying about never winning the French Open……
Barcelona Stuns United
Barcelona raised their game and left holders Manchester United in a state of shock. Catalans scored a breathtaking 2-0 victory over United to capture their third Champions League crown. Pep Guardiola in his debut season as a coach now has won the title twice one as a player and now as a coach. At the age 38 he also became the youngest coach to take European club football’s highest honor. Barcelona showed rhythm, elegance, dominance and possession which was too much for United to handle.
The march of the Red Devils came to and end in Rome and ended there unbeaten run of 25 games in the champions league. United also came to Rome with an unbeaten record of 2 yrs in the League. United’s 38 year old goal keeper Edwin Van Der Sar had not coincided a single goal in the last 14 matches but failed to defend the post in the grand finale. Samuel Eto’o scored the first goal with the help of deflection and Lionel Messi headed the second one of a cross from Xavi in the 70th minute closing all doors for United to get back in the game.
French striker Thierry Henry whose daughter also celebrated her birthday said in a post game interview
“Finally I have won it! I have been waiting for so long for this moment,”
“The last five minutes were the longest of my life. Even if we were 2-0 up we were playing the best team in the world (referring to the world club championship title United won earlier this year).”
United’s coach Sir Ferguson gracefully accepted defeat and said “We started the game brightly but the goal was a killer. However, they are a better team than us. We conceded two bad goals. Our defense has been good all season but those were two shoddy goals to lose.”
