Sir Bobby Robson Respected By Football Globe
Thousands of fans including some leading names in football attended the thanksgiving service and paid respects held at Durham Cathedral for the Ex England manger Sir Bobby Robson. After a long battle against cancer, he died at age of 76 on 31july.
Service was set in native Durham to commemorate the life of Sir Bobby Robson. Service was shown live on TV for thousands in Ipswich town centre and at St James Park in
Newcastle. Famous Football players who came for service were Bobby and Jack Charlton, Harry Redknapp, Sam Allardyce, David Moyes and many others apart from them, other popular figures including television presenters, actors, and athletes attended the service. Gary Linekar uttered Sir Bobby was he never let his country down was dignified, courteous, and diplomatic. Sir Alex Ferguson manager of Manchester United said he postponed his retirement after the advice from Sir Bobby and added saying world would forever remember a last minute win against Belgium during the World Cup held in 1990. Tony Wilson Ex Fulham player remembered initial day of his playing and worship for North East England. Dr Ruth Plummer Cancer specialist said that a foundation has been set up in his name and up to now £1.8m has been raised.
