Serena William Fined For Outburst And Misconduct



Serena William aggressive outburst fined her $10,000 at the end of her US Open semifinal defeat by Kim Clijsters and along with additional investigation could lead her to additional punishment. Williams moved towards a line judge threatened to stuff the tennis ball she held in left hand down the woman’s throat and shook her racket at the woman, mixing in profanity throughout the encounter.

Officials will verify if the behavior of Ms William as a major offence for which additional penalties will be raised. $500 for racquet abuse in the same match will be fined once the investigation had taken place. Stacey Allaster stated the conduct as both inappropriate and unprofessional, she continued in her statement no matter what the circumstances is no player is allowed to engage in such behavior without suffering results she is a role model to millions of young women so it is very important to step forward and recognize her behavior. Williams unconfined her statement confessing she had let her emotions and passion gets the better of her as a result, she handled the situation poorly. She added in her statement that she would like to thank all her fans and supporters for understanding she is human and looking forward to continue the journey both Serena Williamprofessionally and personally. William was unapologetic about the incident during the press meet saying her action was not in record. As per the Grand Slam Rule Book unsportsmanlike conduct was referred as aggravated behavior and such violation shall subject a player a fine up to $250,000 or the amount of prize money won at the tournament. It also states that a player can be permanently be suspended from play if found guilty.
