Jamaicans Suspended For Three Months
Four Jamaican sprinters athletes Yohan Blake, Marvin Anderson, Allodin Fothergill, and Lansford Spence confessed of using a banned stimulant at held to suspension for three months. Athletes acknowledged last week of using a banned drug methylxanthine.
Blake had won bronze in 100m at the world junior championship held in 2006, whereas Anderson a 100m runner and Fothergill and Spence a 400m runner. Test was carried out in Jamaica’s national
athletic championship and officials refused them to participate and were pulled out from the World Championships in Berlin. Jamaica Anti- Doping Commission Patrice Charles Freeman stated appeal tribunal acted and understood the case and judgment is fair enough. Fifth female athlete Sherry Ann Brooks had initially cleared the test but violation in her testing method later continued by urine samples.
